About me

From Darjeeling to the world stage

I am an educator, researcher, and writer working at the intersection of nursing, psychology, and women's empowerment. My work began in Darjeeling, in the Eastern Himalayas, and now spans classrooms in Chennai, research forums in India, and international conference platforms abroad. I am the first from North Bengal to pursue a doctorate in nursing education — a path I hope many more from the region will follow.

My academic foundation is built across disciplines — GNM, B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Nursing, followed by a Master's in Psychology to understand the minds behind the patients. Over six years as a nurse educator, I have taught and mentored students entering the profession. I am currently a full-time PhD scholar at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER), Chennai, where I hold the Founder-Chancellor Research Fellowship, while pursuing an MBA to strengthen my leadership in healthcare education.

Alongside my research, I write a regular column in Himalaya Darpan, India's first Nepali daily, on women's health, education, and empowerment — carrying evidence from the field to the readers it concerns most. In May 2026, I represented India at the 12th World Conference on Women's Studies in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
